Paraguay to host the 6th Summit of Cooperatives of the Americas

The VI Summit of Cooperativas de las Américas will be organised in hybrid form on 24-27 October 2022 in Luque (Asuncion), Paraguay. Within its framework the Continental Congress of Cooperative Law with the theme 'The cooperative law and the cooperative identity in the post-pandemic era' will be organised. 

CCW is proud to be among the speakers in a panel discussion dedicated to the transformation of food systems. We shall share best practices by consumer co-operatives from around the world. CCW is also one of the event's sponsors. 

The Summit will feature training sessions on how to integrate future and current leaders, managers, collaborators and partners. These topics fall in line with the fifth and sixth co-operative principles on the promotion of education, training and information and co-operation among cooperatives.

Co-operators will have the opportunity to debate the future of the cooperative movement based on the new world context and its role within the international community.

The debates will also focus on the cooperative identity, with emphasis on global challenges and digitisation, economic reactivation and integration, sustainability and climate change. 

Young people will be key protagonists in the encounter which will also aim to promote youth cooperative entrepreneurship as a means to generate employment and improve the socioeconomic status of its members. 

The event is organized by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) in conjunction with the Paraguayan Confederation of Cooperatives Limited ( CONPACOOP), the Confederation of Rural Cooperatives of Paraguay (CONCOPAR), the Federation of Paraguayan Cooperatives (FECOPAR), the Federation of Multiactivity Cooperatives of Paraguay (FECOMULP), the Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (FECOAC), and University Cooperative y Honeycomb General Insurance Company SA.
