CoopsDay 2026 - CCW President Address

Dear cooperators,

On behalf of CCW, I extend my warmest greetings to you and your families on the occasion of the
104^th International Cooperative Day of the ICA and the 32^nd International Day of Cooperatives proclaimed by the United Nations under the theme "Cooperatives for a Peaceful World".

Although the world is marked by increasing tensions and conflicts, through cooperative values such as mutual aid, responsibility, democracy, equality, justice and solidarity, cooperatives actively contribute to peacebuilding.

In different sectors and regions, cooperatives prove on a daily basis that lasting peace is built on the foundations of social justice and inclusion. In this way, cooperatives strengthen local economies, expand access to goods and services, promote democratic participation, create opportunities for all, and build trust and solidarity.

The theme of this year's celebration reminds us that cooperatives contribute to peace not only with words, but with concrete actions.

Once again, please accept my warmest wishes on the occasion of the International Cooperative Day!
