CCW Executive Committee Meets in Sofia

The CCW Executive Committee held a meeting on 5 March 2026 in Sofia, Bulgaria, hosted by Central Cooperative Union - Bulgaria. The meeting took place in the framework of the Cooperative Leadership Forum of the Balkans and the Black Sea Region, which gathered 45 cooperative leaders from 19 countries across Europe and beyond.
The meeting was opened by Prof. Petar Stefanov - President of CCW and of the Central Cooperative Union of Bulgaria, who welcomed the members of the Executive Committee and highlighted the importance of the Forum as a platform for strengthening cooperation between consumer cooperatives.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee reviewed and approved the draft report on CCW’s activities and financial results for 2025, reflecting the organisation’s ongoing efforts to promote international cooperation among consumer cooperatives and to represent the sector at the global level.
Members also discussed the objectives and priorities of the CCW Work Plan and Budget for 2026, outlining key initiatives aimed at strengthening international partnerships, supporting cooperative development, and enhancing the visibility of the consumer cooperative movement worldwide.
Another important item on the agenda was the preparation of the CCW General Assembly elections for the 2026–2030 mandate, including initial discussions on governance and organisational continuity.
The meeting provided an opportunity for Executive Committee members to exchange views on the future strategic direction of CCW and to reinforce collaboration among its member organisations.
